Label Options

System elements and data entry fields throughout in Coretime have default labels.

By default, the client system element is labelled "Client" throughout Coretime.

You could change the Client label to a different term, such as "Person". After you do this, a client is labelled "Person" throughout the system.

You can also set label options on more specific levels.

For example, you could change the "Address 1" label in client records to "Street". This change would apply to all client records, but not to other types of record that have an Address 1 field.

In addition to setting label names, you can also make certain data entry fields mandatory in Coretime.

Customising a Label

1. Open the Utilities view in the left-hand pane.
2. Click the System Setup in the left-hand pane.
3. Click Label Options in the left-hand pane.

4. In main workspace you can make changes to labels as necessary. These are organised into a number of categories.

   System Labels

   The system label category relates to the major system elements that make up your Coretime system, such as clients, projects and activities.

   For example, the Client system element has the label "Client" by default throughout the system. You could change this label to something that better suits your needs, such as "Person".

   When you do this, wherever the system previously displayed "Client", it now displays "Person".

   Client

   This category enables you to:

   • Change the default labels of certain fields in the Client Details screen.
   • Make fields mandatory in the Client Details screen.
   Project

   This category enables you to:

   • change the default labels of certain fields in the Project Details screen
   • make fields mandatory in the Project Details screen
   Contacts

   This category enables you to change the default labels of certain fields in the Contact Details screen.

   Employees

   This category enables you to:

   • Change the default labels of certain fields in the Employee Details screen.
   • Make fields mandatory in the Employee Details screen.
   Position Rate

   Each employee must have a pre-defined "Position". This assigns the employee:

   • One or more default charge-out rates (up to a maximum of nine).
   • A set of system access permissions.

   By default, the position charge-out rates have the labels 'Rate A', 'Rate B', and so on.

   You can change these default labels to suit your organisation's needs.

   For example, you could change the 'Rate 1' label to something that better suits your needs, such as 'Normal Rate'.

   You can also add and remove position rate labels using the + and - buttons. The additions and removals you make are reflected in the Positions screen.

   Employee Rate

   You can apply extra charge-out rates to an employee in addition to the default rate set up in the position assigned to them.

   These extra rates have the 'Rate A' through 'Rate G' by default.

   You can change these default labels to suit your organisation's needs.

   For example, you could change the 'Rate A' label to something that better suits your needs, such as 'Normal Rate'.

   You can also add and remove employee rate labels using the + and - buttons. The additions and removals you make are reflected in the Employee Details screen's Extra Employee Charge Rates section.

   Emp Cost Rate

   Employee cost rates quantify how an employee's cost to the business is calculated.

   You can add and remove employee cost rate labels using the + and - buttons.

   Finance Type

   These include financial items such as invoices, fee notes, write-offs and credit notes.

   Planner Time

   Here you can determine the colours the Staff Planner uses to signify AM, PM, Full Day and Multiple.

5. Each category has its own Submit button. Click this button to save the changes you made in that label category.
