Project Analysis

1. Open the Utilities view in the left-hand pane.
2. Click Analysis Groups.
3. Click NEW in the main workspace.
4. In the Analysis Group field, type 'Manager'.
5. In the Analysis Type drop-down list, select Project.
6. Click Submit.

You have created a new analysis group called Manager.

1. Open the Utilities view in the left-hand pane.
2. Click Project Analysis.
3. In the Groups field, select Manager.
4. Click NEW in the main workspace.
5. In the Employee field, select an employee who should belong to the Manager project analysis group.
6. Click Submit.

You have added a manager to the Manager project analysis group.

Repeat these steps until you have added all the necessary managers to the group.

1. Open the Edit view in the left-hand pane.
2. Click Projects in the left-hand pane.
3. Open the relevant project - in this case 'Initial Proposal' - and click the EDIT button.
4. Scroll down to the Project Analysis Groups section. The Manager field is now available because you have set Manager up as a project analysis group.
5. Select a manager in the Manager field.
6. Click SUBMIT.

You have assigned a manager to a project.

1. Set up another project analysis group (see Step 1) called 'Project Type', and populate it with analysis codes identifying the various types of projects in the system, including our example 'Initial Proposal'.
2. Now you can run reports with the project analysis groups 'Manager' and 'Project Type'.
3. To run the Aged WIP Report for all managers, open the Aged WIP report options screen. In the Project Analysis Grouping section, carry out these steps:
   1. Select Manager in the drop-down list.
   2. Select all members of this group in the upper pane and click Add.
   3. All members of the group are added to the lower pane, signifying that they will be included in the report.
   4. Now select Project Type in the drop-down list.
   5. Select our example project type Initial Proposal in the upper pane.
   6. Click Add.
   7. 'Initial Proposal' is added to the lower pane, signifying that projects of this type will be included in the report.
   8. Click Submit to generate the report.

The report will show the Aged Work-in-Progress status for each manager and their related "Initial Proposal" projects.
